What do I need to run it?
A Mac with macOS 11 (Big Sur) or later, Apple Silicon or Intel. Chord Agent 2 comes as VST3, Audio Unit and a Standalone app. There’s no Windows version.
Does it need an internet connection?
Yes for GENERATE, REFINE, NEW HARMONY and mode changes: the harmony is written on our server. Everything after that runs on your Mac and works offline: knobs, voicing and rhythm styles, ROLL, transpose, sounds, playback, MIDI out and drag MIDI.
Which DAWs does it work in?
Any macOS host that loads VST3 or AU instruments, such as Ableton Live, Logic Pro, Bitwig Studio, Cubase, Studio One, Reaper and FL Studio. Drag MIDI works everywhere; routing its live MIDI output to another track depends on your host.
How do I play my own synth with it in Ableton Live?
Put Chord Agent 2 on a MIDI track. Create another MIDI track with your instrument, set MIDI From to the Chord Agent 2 track (choose Chord Agent 2 in the second dropdown), arm it or set Monitor to In, then switch SYNTH off in Chord Agent 2.
I own Chord Agent v1. Do I pay again?
No. Install Chord Agent 2, open LICENSE, choose “I have a v1 serial instead” and enter the email and serial you already have: you get a Chord Agent 2 key back. How the upgrade works. Lost your serial? Email support@sonic-weapons.com.
How do I get my licence key?
Checkout is handled by Stripe. As soon as payment goes through you land on a page showing your key (CA2-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX). Paste it into Chord Agent 2’s licence card. Lost it? Email support from your purchase address and we’ll resend it.
How many computers can I use it on?
Two at a time per licence. Moving to a new computer? Deactivate the old one in the LICENSE panel, or from the list that appears when you activate a third. You can move it 3 times in 30 days; after that, email support.
What if it’s not for me?
Email support@sonic-weapons.com within 14 days of purchase for a full refund.
Can I use what I make in my releases?
Yes. The MIDI you make is yours.
Does it make audio, melodies or drums?
No. Chord Agent 2 does chords: written, voiced and played in rhythm. You hear them through the built-in synth or send the MIDI to your own instruments. It doesn’t generate audio, melodies, basslines or drums.
